项目位于贵州省黔南布依族苗族自治州平塘县克度镇大窝凼，是500米口径球面射电望远镜(FAST)工程其中的一个组成部分。基地选址于一处风景优美的山谷，距离射电望远镜约500米，处于四周群山密林的环抱之中。地形复杂，基础设施建设比较滞后。项目定位为集学术交流、办公、科学实验、住宿、后勤于一体的FAST工程观测基地。

综合楼是基地的主体建筑，由于镶嵌在山谷中，仅有南立面可以展示其形象，设计上体现山地建筑特点，采取了消隐体量的设计手法，利用场地的高差，将一层消隐在主入口视线以下。建筑采用坡屋顶木建筑装饰的建筑形式，利用出挑的飞檐、耸立的柱廊、强烈的虚实对比，塑造出一个具有强烈视觉冲击力的主体形象，宛如镶嵌在山中的一颗明珠，璀璨生辉。建筑设计采用坡屋顶，底层结构架空，仅有框架柱拔地而起，整体建筑轻盈的建筑体量悬浮在起伏不平的场地上，既具有贵州民居的形式，也有吊脚楼的神韵，符合地域建筑风格。

This project, located in Dawodang, Kedu Town, Pingtang County, Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, is a component of the 500-meter spherical radio telescope (FAST) project. The base, located in a scenic valley, approximately 500 meters from the radio telescope, surrounded by dense forests and mountains. The complex terrain leads to relatively lagging infrastructure. The project, positioned as a FAST engineering observation base, integrates academic exchanges, office, scientific experiments, accommodation, and logistics.

The complex building, the main building of the base, is embedded in the valley, and only the south facade can be seen. In consequence, the design involved here reflects the characteristics of mountain architecture, in virtue of blanking, to hide the first floor below the line of sight of the main entrance. In this building, the architect adopts the architectural form of sloping roof with wooden building decoration, using protruding cornices, towering colonnades, and a strong contrast between the virtual and reality for the creation of the main image with strong visual impact, like a pearl set in the mountain, shining brightly. The architect adopts a design of a sloping roof, an overhead bottom structure, and a frame column rising from the ground, which forms a light suspending building on the undulating ground. And this building boasts the form of Guizhou residential buildings, and the charm of stilted buildings, which is in keeping with the regional architectural style.
