达累斯萨拉姆大学是非洲最好的大学之一。新图书馆设计低调平和，传承并延续了校园现代主义的建筑传统。设计保留了用地东侧湿地，并让原有的学生小路从建筑中穿过。室外滨水平台，讨论空间，休闲步道贯穿场地，提供了游憩于自然之中的优雅环境，让场所的记忆得到保留和提升。建筑采用单元式布局，保证功能的灵活性和路径的清晰性。立面均采用模数化的遮阳体系，理性，经济，施工简便。立面主体的垂直遮阳板语言与老图书馆呼应，延续传统。考虑到当地的炎热气候，设计采用了小体块，浅进深，开放式布局，强调自然通风。遮阳百页系统提供舒适的光线环境，控制日照。太阳能系统提供日常照明，降低维护成本。综合的措施保证建筑成为一座低能耗的绿色建筑。在建筑表皮局部及室内，设计还采用两国文字图案，当地特色装饰图案等作为设计元素，提示两国的文化传统，让建筑在现代主义的整体形象中包含文化内涵。

The University of Dar es Salaam is one of the best universities in Africa. The design of the new library is low-key and peaceful, inheriting and continuing the architectural tradition of campus modernism. The design retains the wetland on the east side of the land and allows the original student path to pass through the building. The outdoor waterfront platform, discussion space and leisure trail throughout the site provide an elegant environment for recreation in nature, and preserve and improve the memory of the site. The building adopts unit layout to ensure the flexibility of function and the clarity of path. The facade adopts modular shading system, which is rational, economical and easy to construct. The design language of vertical sunshade of the main body of the facade echoes with the old library, and continues the tradition. Considering the local hot climate, the design adopts small block, shallow depth and open layout, and emphasizes natural ventilation. Sunshade shutter system provides comfortable light environment and controls sunlight. The solar system provides daily lighting and reduces maintenance costs. Comprehensive measures are taken to ensure that the building becomes a green building with low energy consumption. In the skin part and interior of the building, the characters of China and Tanzania and the decorative patterns with local characteristics are used as the design elements, which indicates the cultural traditions of the two countries and makes the building contain cultural connotation in the overall image of modernism.
