河北医科大学第四医院的建设跨越了18年，从2000年完工的门诊医技病房楼到新建的医技病房楼，使医院的医疗条件得到大幅的提升。新建医技病房楼的设计构思来源于三个方面：苛刻的日照条件，尽可能争取更多的自然采光与通风以及对现有建筑的尊重。为避免对现有建筑产生压迫感，整体布局形成前低后高的形态。新楼的建设从医疗区整体功能考虑，将老楼纳入一体化设计，同时，结合医院的发展特点，扩展重点医技科室及病区护理单元，运用医疗主街概念，将新老楼通过T字形主街紧密联系，关联科室联系方便，交通流线便捷，患者可识别性清晰。

The construction of the Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University lasted for 18 years. From the outpatient and medical tech ward building completed in 2000 to the new medical tech ward building, the medical conditions of the Hospital have been greatly improved. The design concept of the new medical tech ward building came from three aspects: harsh sunlight conditions, more natural lighting and ventilation as possible, and respect for existing buildings. In order to avoid a sense of oppression in existing buildings, the overall layout took the form of low front and high rear. For the construction of new building, overall functions of the medical area were taken into consideration and the old building was integrated into an integrated design. Meanwhile, in combination with the developmental characteristics of the hospital, key medical tech departments and ward nursing units were expanded and the concept of a medical main street was used to link the old building with a T-shaped main street, so that relevant departments were convenient for contacting, the traffic flow was convenient and the patients were clearly identifiable.
